Six passengers have suffered non-life threatening injuries after a Canada-bound airplane crashed shortly after taking off outside the capital of Guyana.
The Fly Jamaica flight made emergency landing at Cheddi Jagan International Airport, Timehri, at around 02:00 local time (06:00 GMT). It had taken off not long prior to heading for Toronto.
The Boeing 757, with 126 people onboard, including 2 infants, returned after experiencing hydraulic problems.
An airline's spokesman said it had suffered an accident on landing, but all 118 passengers and 8 crew were safe.
According to Guyana's Transportation Minister David Patterson, those hurt in the accident had been taken to hospital and were all stable and looked at. There were no reports of broken bones.
