A Drug Enforcement Administration employee has been injured on Wednesday, September 19, after a single-engine airplane on "training mission" close to a Texas airport crashed into 2 cars after hitting power line.
A spokesperson with DEA confirmed that the aircraft, with 3 agents onboard, had been on "training mission when it experienced mechanical difficulties." The plane had been forced to make emergency landing on the roadway southwest of Houston, in Fort Bend County, which led to the crash.
The plane hit a power line prior to crashing into the vehicles.
A Federal Aviation Administration revealed that the initial investigation had found the pilot "reported engine problems just before the accident."
KTRK reported that the aircraft was attempting "touch and go maneuvers" at the time of crash close to Sugar Land Regional Airport.
DEA spokesperson said that two of the passengers could walk away from the crash. One agent was rushed to hospital and being treated for injuries that were not life threatening.
The people in the vehicles were also said to be OK.
